Planeta PYME, episodio 1: la importancia de la digitalización en las pymes, con Javier de Antonio, presidente de FEDETO
The project

Full production of the first episode of Planeta PYME, Copermática Software’s corporate podcast, recorded at FEDETO’s headquarters (Toledo Business Federation) with its president, Javier de Antonio, as a guest. A real case of video marketing and corporate podcasting where the conversation revolves around one idea: digitalization is not an expense, it is the investment that determines whether an SME remains competitive.

We handled the set, the two-camera recording, and the complete editing of the episode, which is over thirty minutes long, for its publication on YouTube and Copermática’s social media channels.

A corporate podcast to raise awareness among SMEs

Copermática and FEDETO have been collaborating for years to convey to Toledo’s business owners the importance of digitizing their businesses. With Planeta PYME, this message moves from seminars to a format that can be listened to and shared: an intimate interview where FEDETO’s president speaks as a representative of business owners and, above all, as a business owner who has experienced these changes in his own company.

The episode’s objective was clear: to help SMEs understand the positive impact of digitalization and the time and cost savings it entails, especially during a period of regulatory changes that directly affect them.

What the episode covers: the value of digitalization

These are the key takeaways from the conversation between Copermática and FEDETO:

  • Twenty days of work that could have been avoided. Javier de Antonio recounts how, facing a labor inspection, it took him nearly twenty working days to gather and organize documentation. With a document management system, that time disappears, and he has now implemented it in his company.
  • Investment, not expense. Digitalization increases productivity and competitiveness. The example is as simple as a printer that scans twice as fast: a small expense that is postponed, but which yields enormous time-based economies of scale.
  • Cloud management and backups. Access to data and technical support anytime, anywhere, information protection, and less time spent on infrastructure.
  • Work flexibility and work-life balance. After the pandemic, the ability to work from anywhere allowed many SMEs to remain operational during unforeseen events like lockdowns or the DANA storm in Toledo, and to provide their teams with genuine family-work balance.
  • Digital customer and loyalty. CRM, customer portals, and shared document management: tools that enhance the customer experience and foster loyalty beyond price.
  • Staff shortages. When qualified workers are hard to find, digitalization allows for optimizing existing positions and maintaining service quality.
  • Regulatory changes. The Anti-Fraud Law and mandatory electronic invoicing eliminate manual invoices and uncertified tools, and digital time tracking will be the next step. Those unprepared will face problems when the obligation arrives.
  • Constant updates. Every few years, there’s a significant technological change, so aid programs, like the Digital Kit, should be permanent and less bureaucratic, and SMEs should always allocate a portion of their resources to improving their systems.
  • Allowing professionals to help. No information silos, with solutions for all business areas under one umbrella, and professionally managed social media.

The episode’s conclusion summarizes the message: take a small step every day so that when the big change comes, the company is prepared for the wave, not caught off guard.

Preparing the interview: script, outline, and timing

We worked with Copermática on the episode’s question script and an outline by thematic blocks: essential tools, Digital Kit, work flexibility, digital customer, digitalization challenges, aid, cost reduction, regulatory changes, and future plans. This structure then became the video chapters on YouTube, allowing each viewer to go directly to the topic of interest.

During recording, we controlled the duration of each block, ensuring the conversation flowed naturally and the episode arrived at editing with the material already organized.

Recording at FEDETO’s headquarters with two cameras

We set up the stage in a room at FEDETO’s headquarters in Toledo, utilizing the natural light from its terrace and the flags of Castilla-La Mancha and Spain as an institutional backdrop. We recorded with two cameras, a wide shot of both speakers and a close-up of the guest, with softbox lighting to balance the backlight from the glass wall and microphones to capture clean audio.

During editing, we alternated between both shots depending on who was speaking, which maintained the visual rhythm of a conversation lasting over half an hour.

Editing, trailer, and publication

The episode begins with a trailer featuring the most impactful phrases from the interview, such as the twenty days lost in an inspection or technological changes every five years, to hook the viewer from the first second. We added the Planeta PYME intro, guest lower thirds, color correction, and audio mixing, and delivered the video with marked chapters for YouTube along with clips for Copermática’s social media.

What we did for this project

  • Question script and block-by-block outline with Copermática.
  • Set assembly at FEDETO’s headquarters: cameras, lighting, and sound.
  • Two-camera recording and time control.
  • Editing with shot changes, initial trailer, intro, and lower thirds.
  • Color correction, audio mixing, and YouTube chapters.
  • Clips for social media.

The result is a corporate podcast that positions Copermática as a leader in SME digitalization and provides FEDETO with an accessible channel to raise awareness among Toledo’s business owners.
